Travelling to Bhutan by railway is not possible as there are no dedicated rail routes within the country. However, tourists can travel to Bhutan through nearby railway stations located in the cities of West Bengal such as Hasimara and Alipurduar located at a distance of 18 km and 60 km respectively.
Travelling by roadways is probably one of the best ways to reach Bhutan. Although the journey may be time-consuming it will offer to travel through various landscapes offering the true beauty of the surrounding regions.
