Being one of the most isolated counties of Southeast Asia, Bhutan is home to numerous ethnic groups and tribes who live together happily while preserving the culture of the country. Ngalong, Sharchop, Kheng and Nepali are the dominant community of Bhutan that contributes to 98% of the total population. Most of the people follow Buddhism, although each of the ethnic groups follows their own identical traditions, customs and cultures that can be witnessed through the cultural diversity of the country.
Bhutan is among the few countries in the world that have been successfully able to retain its cultures that have been followed over generations. The people of Bhutan are honest and friendly in nature and most of them are into agriculture as a source of livelihood and also contribute to the total revenue of the country. The people mostly wear traditional dress which includes Gho and Kira and is a compulsory outfit for government officials.
