Visa and Formalities

Tourists do require a valid visa to enter Bhutan from any part of the world. However, the visa requirement is exempted for the citizens of India, Myanmar and Bangladesh who need to require an entry permit from the immigration office located at Phuentsholing. For others, they need to acquire visas from either local tour operators or through online portals of the Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs in Bhutan. The application goes through various verification processes before handing you the visa; therefore it is advised to apply for your visa prior to your arrival for a hassle-free travelling experience.
